In revisiting our collaborative and experimental release with Half Acre Beer Co., we selected the sweetest, most expressive components and aged them for an additional year in Wild Turkey Russell’s Reserve bourbon barrels. This “Deconstructed Stout” was separated into pale and dark elements, allowing the pale malts to mature without the protective influence of darker grains. The result is a Very Special Old stout with the depth of a stout and the soul of a Very Special Old barleywine—complex, layered, and truly one of a kind.
