This year’s version was brewed to be sweeter than in past years to match the profile of the fresh Henry McKenna bourbon barrels it was aged in. McKenna won many awards in 2019, and these special barrels bring layers of caramel, nougat and vanilla to a beer loaded with notes of toffee, bittersweet chocolate, and roasted barley. All of this sits atop a strong base of toasty British floor-malted Maria Otter for a full, round stout experience.
